When multiple names have the exact same number of births in a year, they share the same rank. For example, if 16 names are tied at rank 683, they all get rank 683, but the next name jumps to rank 699 (683 + 16). This is standard ranking methodology used by official sources like the U.S. Social Security Administration and Statistics Canada. So when you see a gap, it means several names were equally popular that year!

Yes. Every name in your Consultant list comes with comments explaining why it fits your Style DNA, so you can make choices confidently and understand the reasoning.

Yes. If you want to emphasize certain sounds, themes, or styles, you can tweak your Style Profile and then tap Create New Style DNA to get a new DNA and associated Consultant list.

No. Every Style DNA is unique. No two are the same. Even similar tastes lead to different results and illustrations.

The Consultant experience usually takes 15–30 minutes, depending on how detailed you get with your Style DNA.

It starts with your Style DNA and any notes or comments you add along the way. It takes your Style DNA, runs it through deep patterning and multiple analysis rounds, then delivers a curated list with reasoning for every single pick. The names you see in a Consultant list are hand-picked for your style and story.

In Naymt, lists let you save names you love, rearrange them, invite others, and make decisions together. You can create as many lists as you want, whether you're narrowing things down or starting from scratch.

It's easy. Inside a list, swipe right to move a name up or swipe left to move it down. You can also tap a name to see its details, find out who moved it and when, and view any comments added. Every list becomes a living record of where your favorite names stand.

Yes. Every list can be shared using an invite link from the list owner. You'll see their changes in real time, so everyone stays on the same page.

Anyone with the app. Once they download Naymt, they can tap your invite link to join the list. Whether it's your partner, sibling, best friend, or mom, they'll be able to add names, move things around, and leave comments.

In Naymt, collaborators can fully participate in any list they're added to. They can add or rearrange names, leave notes, react to picks, and help shape the final order. Everything they do shows up in the activity feed, so nothing gets lost or second-guessed.

Yes. In Naymt, there's no voting button, just swiping. Everyone can move names up or down based on what they love or don't. It's totally collaborative and a lot of fun. You can also leave notes to explain your moves or settle the re-arrange debate.

Absolutely. Create separate lists for different styles, stages, or people. Our favorite way to use multiple lists is to keep one with input from friends and family, and another private one just for you and your partner. It helps keep the naming energy contained and the real decisions focused while still having fun.

A veto means "this one's a definite no from me." It drops the name to the bottom of the list, so it's out of the running. You'll still be able to see vetoed names, just in case someone has a change of heart later.

Yes. Just swipe right to move the name back into consideration. Nothing's gone forever in Naymt, sometimes a name grows on you.

Yes. Tap a name in a list to open it and leave a note. Comments are shared and visible to all collaborators on that list, so everyone stays in the loop.

Open any name in a list to view its activity. You'll see who moved it up or down, who made it a top pick, and who vetoed it (and when). You can also tap a collaborator's profile to see their full activity across the lists you share.

Yes. Turn on notifications to get updates when names are added, rankings change, vetoes happen, or new collaborators join. You can control which lists send you alerts in Profile Settings.

Naymr is our visual tool that guesses names based on photos. Snap a pic of anything and see what Naymr thinks it would be named. It's powered by real-time style cues (and a little magic).

Naymt was created by a girl named Lani, whose own experience with naming is deeply personal. After growing up in foster care, she was adopted at eight and given a name that, unknowingly, carried offensive meanings in many cultures. By 25, she set out to change it, only to find the naming process outdated and overwhelming. That journey inspired her to build Naymt: a modern, thoughtful way to make naming smart, personal, and even fun.
